SFURTI Scheme for Traditional Industry Clusters
Overview
The Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI) is a Government of India initiative under the Ministry of MSME. It supports the development of traditional industry clusters such as khadi, coir, and handicrafts by providing funds for modernization, skill development, and market access.
Objective
SFURTI aims to revitalize traditional industries by organizing artisans into clusters, upgrading their skills and tools, and connecting them with modern markets. It helps sustain rural livelihoods while preserving India’s craft heritage.

Eligibility
- Clusters of artisans, weavers, or craftspersons with at least 500 beneficiaries
- Implementing agencies include NGOs, panchayati raj institutions, and industry associations
- Clusters working in khadi, coir, handloom, handicrafts, or other traditional industries
- Implementing agencies must have at least three years of experience in the sector
Exclusions
- Individual enterprises not organized as clusters are not eligible
- Clusters working in modern or mechanized industries outside the traditional sector
- Agencies with a history of misutilization of government grants may be disqualified
Application Process
- Implementing agency identifies a viable cluster and prepares a Detailed Project Report (DPR)
- DPR is submitted to the State SFURTI Nodal Agency or KVIC/KVIB/Coir Board
- Project is evaluated by a Steering Committee at the national level
- Approved clusters receive funding in tranches
- Progress is monitored through periodic reviews and field visits

- Registration certificate of the implementing agency
- List of beneficiary artisans with identity details
- Bank account details of the agency
- Land or space documents for infrastructure
- Audited financial statements of the agency
