Central Aid for PoK and Chhamb Displaced Families

Overview

This central scheme provides one-time financial assistance to families displaced from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the Chhamb area. These families were forced to abandon their homes due to wars and partition-era displacement over the past several decades.

The scheme aims to provide some degree of economic rehabilitation to those who have lived as displaced persons for generations, often without formal government settlement support.

Eligibility

• Families already fully rehabilitated under earlier central or state schemes
• Individuals who cannot establish original residence in PoK or Chhamb
• Families who have voluntarily settled outside India

Application Process

Eligible families must apply through the state government’s relief and rehabilitation department. Applications are screened based on displacement records and details of any prior assistance received.

The central government disburses funds to state governments for onward distribution to verified beneficiaries.
