Overview

The Sikkim Unmarried Women Pension Scheme is a state welfare initiative by the Government of Sikkim. It provides monthly pension support to unmarried women who have no regular income source and are not covered under any other pension program.

The scheme is aimed at offering social and financial protection to a vulnerable segment of women who often lack family support.

• Benefit provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)

Eligibility

• Must be a permanent resident of Sikkim
• Must be unmarried (never married)
• Should not have any regular source of income
• Must not be covered under any other pension or social security scheme
• Age criteria as prescribed by the state government

Exclusions

• Married, divorced, or widowed women are not covered under this scheme (separate schemes may apply)
• Women with a regular government job or pension are not eligible
• Non-residents of Sikkim cannot apply

Application Process

1. Visit the nearest Social Welfare Department office or Block Development Office in Sikkim
2. Collect and fill the application form for the pension scheme
3. Attach all supporting documents
4. Submit the form at the designated office
5. After verification, eligible applicants are enrolled and pension is credited monthly

• Age proof (birth certificate, school certificate, or Aadhaar)
