Overview

Shri Vajpayee Bankable Yojana is a Gujarat state government scheme that provides loans to individuals from Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Backward Classes (EBC) for self-employment activities. The scheme is implemented through the Gujarat OBC Development Corporation and channelized via banks.

Objective

The scheme aims to promote self-reliance among OBC and EBC communities in Gujarat by providing affordable credit. It helps beneficiaries start or expand small businesses and generate sustainable income.

• Loans up to Rs 1 lakh for business and self-employment activities
• Subsidized interest rate with partial government guarantee
• Margin money subsidy of 20% on the loan amount provided by the government

Eligibility

• Applicant must belong to the OBC or EBC category in Gujarat
• Must be a permanent resident of Gujarat
• Age between 18 and 60 years
• Annual family income must be within the prescribed limit
• Should have a viable self-employment project plan

Exclusions

• Applicants not belonging to OBC or EBC communities
• Those with prior loan defaults from government or financial institutions
• Income above the prescribed ceiling disqualifies the applicant
• Individuals already covered under similar schemes from other corporations

Application Process

1. Contact the Gujarat OBC Development Corporation district office or designated bank branch
2. Obtain the Shri Vajpayee Bankable Yojana application form
3. Fill in the form with details of the proposed self-employment activity
4. Submit the form and documents to the bank or corporation office
5. The bank and corporation verify eligibility and project viability
6. Loan is sanctioned and disbursed after approval
