Scholarship for Girls of Jute Mill Workers – MSME Scheme

Overview

This is a central government scholarship program for girl children of workers employed in jute mills and MSME Jute Diversification Products (JDP) units. It is administered by the Ministry of Textiles and aims to support education among the daughters of jute sector workers.

The scheme recognizes that textile workers often earn modest wages and may struggle to fund their daughters’ education.

Eligibility

Exclusions

• Boys are not eligible under this scheme
• Children of non-jute sector workers are excluded
• Students enrolled in unrecognized institutions are not covered
• Families with income above the prescribed ceiling do not qualify

Application Process

1. Application forms are typically distributed through jute mills and JDP units
2. Fill the form and attach all required documents
3. Submit to the HR or welfare department of the employer unit
4. The employer unit forwards applications to the nodal authority
5. Scholarships are credited directly to the student’s bank account
