Overview
Rajiv Gandhi Swavlamban Rojgar Yojna is a self-employment scheme launched by the Government of Delhi. It targets youth, artisans, trained professionals, and skilled technocrats who want to start their own enterprises. The scheme provides financial assistance in the form of loans along with entrepreneurship guidance to help beneficiaries establish sustainable livelihoods.
Objective
The scheme aims to reduce unemployment among youth and skilled workers in Delhi by channeling them toward self-employment. It particularly focuses on those who have vocational skills or professional training but lack the capital to start a business.

Eligibility
- Must be a resident of Delhi
- Age between 18 and 45 years
- Must be unemployed or seeking self-employment
- Applicants with vocational training certificates, professional degrees, or artisan skills are given preference
- Annual family income should be within the limits prescribed by the scheme
- Should not have availed of a similar government self-employment scheme before
Exclusions
- Non-residents of Delhi are not eligible
- Individuals already running an established business with significant turnover are excluded
- Those in default on any prior government loan cannot apply
- Applicants who exceed the prescribed income limit are not covered
Application Process
- Visit the Delhi SC/ST/OBC/Minority Finance and Development Corporation or the Social Welfare Department
- Collect and fill in the application form
- Submit the form with all required documents and a brief business proposal
- The application is evaluated by a committee
- On approval, the loan is sanctioned and disbursed to the applicant
