Orthodox Tea Production Subsidy Assam ATISIS Scheme
Overview
The Orthodox or Specialty Tea Production Subsidy is offered under the Assam Tea Industries Special Incentives Scheme (ATISIS). The Government of Assam introduced this subsidy to revive and promote the production of high-value orthodox and specialty teas, which command better prices in domestic and international markets.
Objective
The scheme aims to encourage Assam tea producers to shift from or supplement CTC (crush, tear, curl) tea with orthodox and specialty varieties. This diversification helps improve earnings for tea gardens and supports the state’s global tea brand.

Eligibility
- Tea producers registered and operating in Assam

- Small tea growers affiliated with registered bought-leaf factories may also qualify
Exclusions
- CTC tea producers not involved in orthodox processing are excluded
- Gardens with outstanding dues or legal disputes with the Tea Board may not qualify
- Producers not registered under the Tea Act are ineligible
Application Process
- Obtain the application form from the Assam Tea Corporation or state industry office
- Fill in production details and tea type manufactured
- Submit the form with supporting documents
- Department officials verify the claim and production records
- Subsidy is credited to the applicant’s bank account after approval
