Maharashtra Tin Stall Scheme for Gatai Kamgar (Construction Workers)

Overview

The Providing Tin Stalls to Gatai Kamgar scheme is a Maharashtra state government welfare initiative for registered construction workers (Gatai Kamgar). Under this scheme, eligible workers are provided with a tin stall free of cost or at a subsidized rate to set up small roadside or market-based businesses.

This is implemented through the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Objective

The scheme aims to provide construction workers with an alternative source of income by giving them a physical stall to conduct small trade or business activities. It supports livelihood diversification and helps workers sustain themselves even during off-seasons.

Eligibility

Exclusions

• Workers not registered with the Maharashtra Construction Workers Welfare Board are not eligible
• A worker who has already received a stall under this scheme cannot apply again
• Workers with fake or invalid registration documents will be disqualified

Application Process

1. Visit the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board office
2. Collect and fill the application form for tin stall allocation
3. Attach registration card and other documents
4. Submit the form at the board office
5. After verification, the stall is allocated or the construction is arranged
