Overview
The LIDCOM Education Loan Scheme is run by the Leather Industries Development Corporation of Maharashtra (LIDCOM). It provides education loans to students from Scheduled Caste communities in Maharashtra to support their higher or professional education.
Despite its origins in the leather sector, LIDCOM has expanded its role to support the broader socio-economic development of SC communities, including education financing.

The scheme aims to ensure that SC students in Maharashtra have access to quality education regardless of their family’s financial condition. It supports professional, technical, and vocational education to help students build careers.

Eligibility
- Student must belong to Scheduled Caste category

Exclusions
- Students from non-SC communities are not eligible
- Courses from unrecognized institutions are not covered
- Applicants with family income above the ceiling do not qualify
- Previous loan defaulters under LIDCOM schemes are excluded
Application Process
- Visit the nearest LIDCOM regional office in Maharashtra
- Collect and fill the education loan application form
- Attach required documents and submit to the office
- LIDCOM verifies the application and the admission status
- Loan is sanctioned and disbursed upon approval
