Haryana: Financial Aid for Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities

Overview

The Financial Assistive Devices for Persons with Disabilities scheme is a welfare initiative by the Government of Haryana. It provides financial assistance to persons with disabilities (PwD) to purchase assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, prosthetics, and other aids that improve their mobility and quality of life.

The scheme is administered by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Haryana.

The scheme aims to make daily life easier and more independent for persons with disabilities by ensuring they have access to necessary assistive tools. It reduces the financial strain on disabled individuals and their families.

Eligibility

Exclusions

• Those who have already received a device under the same scheme recently may not be eligible for another in the same period
• Non-residents of Haryana are excluded
• Persons without a valid disability certificate do not qualify

Application Process

1. Contact the district Social Justice and Empowerment office in Haryana
2. Obtain the application form for assistive devices
3. Fill in the form and attach relevant documents
4. Submit to the designated authority for review
5. After verification, the approved device is procured and provided, or funds are released for purchase
