Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme Jharkhand: Education Loan

Overview

The Guruji Student Credit Card (GSCC) Scheme is a flagship education loan initiative by the Government of Jharkhand. It provides students with a credit card that can be used to access education loans of up to Rs 15 lakh for pursuing higher education in India and abroad.

The scheme is designed to make education financing simple, transparent, and accessible to all eligible students in Jharkhand.

Objective

The scheme aims to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent eligible Jharkhand students from pursuing quality higher education. It simplifies the borrowing process and provides loans at nominal interest rates.

Benefits

• Education loan up to Rs 15 lakh
• Nominal interest rate (typically 4% per annum)
• No collateral required for loans up to the prescribed limit
• Covers tuition fees, hostel charges, books, laptops, and other educational expenses
• Repayment begins after course completion and employment

Eligibility

• Must be a domicile of Jharkhand
• Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent and secured admission in a recognized institution
• Applicable for undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma courses
• No upper income limit for eligibility (scheme is open to all)

Exclusions

• Students not domiciled in Jharkhand are not eligible
• Students applying for non-recognized courses or institutions may not qualify
• Those who have already availed the benefit under this scheme for the same course are not eligible again

Application Process

1. Visit the official GSCC portal or a designated bank empanelled under the scheme
2. Register and fill in the online application form
3. Upload required documents
4. Application is reviewed by the bank and state government
5. Upon approval, the Guruji Student Credit Card is issued for loan disbursement
