Gujarat SC Farmer: Agricultural Land Purchase Assistance
Overview
The Financial Assistance Scheme for Purchase of Agricultural Land to Scheduled Caste Farmers is a Gujarat state government initiative. It provides financial assistance to SC farmers who do not own agricultural land so they can purchase land and begin independent farming. The scheme is implemented through the Gujarat Scheduled Castes Development Corporation (GSDC) or an equivalent state agency.
Objective
The scheme addresses the land inequality faced by Scheduled Caste communities in Gujarat by enabling landless SC farmers to acquire agricultural land. Owning land is a key step toward economic independence and long-term food security for farming families.

Eligibility
- Must belong to a Scheduled Caste community recognized in Gujarat
- Must be a resident of Gujarat with agricultural occupation as the primary livelihood
- Should not own any agricultural land in their name or in the name of an immediate family member
- Annual family income must be within the prescribed BPL or near-BPL limit
- Must be above 18 years of age
Exclusions
- SC farmers who already own agricultural land are not eligible
- Non-SC applicants are not covered under this scheme
- Purchase of non-agricultural or commercial land is not supported
- Applicants with income above the prescribed threshold are not eligible
Application Process
- Visit the district office of the Gujarat Scheduled Castes Development Corporation
- Obtain the application form and fill it in with land details and personal information
- Submit the form along with all required documents
- The agency verifies eligibility and the land transaction details
- After approval, subsidy and loan are disbursed to facilitate the purchase
