It is implemented through the Animal Husbandry Department of Gujarat.

Exclusions

  • Deaths due to negligence or deliberate harm are excluded from compensation
  • Animals not registered or without proof of ownership may not qualify
  • Claims filed after the prescribed reporting window may be rejected
  • Farmers who have already received insurance payout for the same animal death are not entitled to double compensation

Application Process

  1. Immediately report the animal death to the local veterinary officer or taluka animal husbandry office
  2. Get a post-mortem or veterinary report confirming the cause of death
  3. Fill in the compensation application form
  4. Submit the form along with required documents to the taluka or district animal husbandry office
  5. After verification, the compensation is credited to the farmer’s bank account

  • Ownership proof for the animal (purchase receipt, pedigree, or registration)
  • Veterinary death certificate or post-mortem report
  • Aadhaar card
  • Land record or farmer identity proof
  • Bank account details
  • Photograph of the deceased animal
  • Complaint or death report filed with local animal husbandry office
