Overview
The Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative is a state-level scheme launched by the Government of Nagaland. It provides micro-credit support to self-help groups (SHGs) and low-income individuals, particularly women, to foster entrepreneurship and financial independence in rural and semi-urban areas.
Objective
The scheme aims to extend financial services to underserved communities in Nagaland, strengthen SHG-based livelihoods, and reduce dependence on informal moneylenders. It supports income-generating activities through affordable micro-loans.

Eligibility
- SHGs registered under the state’s rural development or social welfare department
- Individual women entrepreneurs in rural and semi-urban areas
- Applicants must be residents of Nagaland
- Households falling below or near the poverty line are given priority
Exclusions
- SHGs with a history of loan default on government schemes may be excluded
- Applicants already covered under other state micro-finance schemes for the same purpose
- Non-resident applicants or those not enrolled in any recognized SHG
Application Process
- Approach the nearest District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) or block office
- Register or verify SHG membership with the concerned authority
- Fill in the loan application and submit with documents
- Block-level officer reviews and recommends the application
- Loan is disbursed through the designated bank or financial institution

- Aadhaar card and voter ID of applicant
- Bank account passbook copy
- Proof of residence in Nagaland
- Group savings passbook (for SHG applicants)
