Overview
The Chief Minister’s State Disability Pension Scheme is a social welfare initiative of the Government of Sikkim. It provides monthly financial assistance to persons with physical or mental disabilities who have no regular source of income, helping them meet daily expenses with dignity and reducing dependence on others for basic financial needs.
Objective
The scheme aims to provide persons with disabilities a basic income floor so they are not entirely dependent on family or charity support. It reduces economic vulnerability among one of the most marginalized groups in the state and acknowledges the state’s responsibility toward citizens who face additional challenges in earning a livelihood.

Eligibility
- Must be a permanent resident of Sikkim with valid domicile documentation
- Certified disability of 40% or more from a recognized government medical board
- No regular employment or fixed monthly income source
- Household income below the state-prescribed threshold
- Must not be receiving any other government disability or social pension
Exclusions
- Persons receiving any pension from central or state government employment
- Those whose disability is certified at less than the minimum 40% threshold
- Individuals without valid Sikkim domicile documentation or non-residents of the state
Application Process
- Visit the District Social Welfare Office in your district of Sikkim
- Collect and complete the pension application form available at the office
- Attach the disability certificate and all other required documents
- Application is reviewed and field-verified by district-level welfare officials
- Approved beneficiaries are enrolled and receive monthly pension through DBT
