It is a structured internship programme that gives students from law, finance, commerce, and economics backgrounds practical exposure to India’s indirect tax framework, including GST and Customs administration.

Eligibility

Exclusions

  • Students who have previously completed an internship under this scheme are not eligible to reapply
  • Candidates who are not enrolled in a recognized educational institution at the time of application
  • Students from unrelated fields such as pure sciences or engineering without a taxation focus are generally not considered

Application Process

  1. Check the CBIC official website (cbic.gov.in) for internship notifications
  2. Fill in the online application form during the open application window
  3. Submit the form with required academic documents and a statement of purpose
  4. Shortlisted candidates are informed by the concerned CBIC zone or division
  5. Selected interns report to the designated CBIC office for the internship
