Overview
The Interest Subvention Scheme for Housing Loans under APUN GHAR is an Assam state government initiative for regular state government employees. Under this scheme, the government provides an interest subvention (subsidy on interest) on housing loans taken by eligible employees to purchase, construct, or repair their homes. Eligibility

- The employee should not own a pucca house in their name prior to availing the scheme
- Service continuity and minimum service period may apply as per scheme rules
Exclusions
- Contractual or daily wage government employees are not covered
- Employees who already own a pucca residence are excluded
- Loans taken for commercial property are not eligible
- Employees in default on any government dues may not qualify
- Second home loans or investment properties are excluded
Application Process
- Apply through the employee’s parent department or the Assam Housing Board office
- Obtain a sanction letter for the housing loan from the bank
- Submit the application form with loan documents and employee details to the designated authority
- The department verifies eligibility and forwards the case to the finance department
- Approved subvention is disbursed directly to the loan account
