Keeping your mobile number updated in your EPF account is essential for receiving timely notifications, accessing online services, and ensuring account security. Here’s how you can update your mobile number:
If You Remember Your UAN Password
- Visit the EPFO Member Portal: Go to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
- Log In: Enter your UAN, password, and captcha code to access your account.
- Navigate to ‘Contact Details’: Click on the “Manage” tab and select “Contact Details” from the dropdown menu.
- Update Mobile Number:
- Check the box labeled “Change Mobile No.”
- Enter your new mobile number twice for confirmation.
- Click on “Get Authorization Pin.”
- An OTP will be sent to your new mobile number. Enter this OTP and click “Submit.”
Your mobile number will be updated in the EPFO records.
If You’ve Forgotten Your UAN Password and Lost Access to Old Mobile Number
- Access the EPFO Member Portal: Navigate to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
- Initiate Password Reset: Click on “Forgot Password.”
- Enter UAN Details: Provide your UAN and captcha code, then click “Submit.”
- Opt for Alternate Verification: When prompted to send OTP to the existing mobile number, click “No.”
- Verify Identity:
- Enter your name, date of birth, and gender.
- Provide your Aadhaar or PAN details for verification.
- Update Mobile Number:
- Enter your new mobile number.
- Click on “Get OTP.”
- Enter the OTP received on your new mobile number and click “Verify.”
- Set New Password: After successful verification, you’ll be prompted to set a new password. Enter it twice and click “Submit.”
Your mobile number and password will be updated in the EPFO system.
Offline Method
If you’re unable to update your mobile number online, you can do so offline:
- Fill Out the Application Form: Obtain the relevant form from your employer or the EPFO office.
- Provide Necessary Details: Enter your new mobile number and ensure it’s linked to your Aadhaar.
- Submit the Form: Get the form signed by your employer and submit it to the regional EPFO office.
- Confirmation: Once processed, you’ll receive a confirmation SMS from EPFO.
Note: Ensure that your name in the EPF records matches with your bank account and Aadhaar details to avoid discrepancies.
