TDS TRACES Login: Complete Guide for Deductors and Taxpayers (2026)

TRACES (TDS Reconciliation Analysis and Correction Enabling System) is the official government portal for TDS-related activities. You use it to file TDS returns, download Form 16, view Form 26AS, and correct TDS challans. This guide walks you through logging in, registering, and fixing common issues.

TRACES Login URL

The official TRACES login page is:

Portal: https://www.tdscpc.gov.in/app/login.xhtml

Or go directly to: https://www.tdscpc.gov.in

This is a government portal managed by the Income Tax Department. Do not use third-party sites to access it.

Deductor vs Taxpayer Login: Which Should You Choose?

When you open the TRACES login page, you will see two tabs:

Deductor Login:

  • For employers, companies, and individuals who deduct TDS from salaries, rent, professional fees, etc.
  • You need a TAN (Tax Deduction Account Number) to log in as a deductor
  • Used for filing TDS returns, generating Form 16/16A, and challan corrections

Taxpayer Login:

  • For individuals checking their TDS credit, downloading Form 26AS
  • You log in with your PAN (not TAN)
  • Used to verify TDS deducted by employers/banks and check demand notices

Choose the correct tab before entering your credentials.

What Is Your TRACES User ID?

Many users are confused about what their TRACES User ID is. Here is the answer:

  • Deductors: Your User ID is your TAN (e.g., BLRP12345E)
  • Taxpayers: Your User ID is your PAN (e.g., ABCDE1234F)

There is no separate username to remember. TAN or PAN itself is the user ID.

What Can You Do After Logging In to TRACES?

After logging in as a deductor, you can:

  • File and revise TDS statements
  • Generate and download Form 16 (for salary TDS) and Form 16A (for non-salary TDS)
  • View and download TDS certificates
  • Correct challan details (short payment, PAN errors)
  • Download the Consolidated TDS file (conso file) for corrections
  • View demand notices and respond to them
  • Check TDS credit mismatch reports

After logging in as a taxpayer, you can:

  • View and download Form 26AS (tax credit statement)
  • Check TDS deducted by your employer or bank
  • Download Annual Information Statement (AIS)
  • Raise a correction request if TDS credit is missing

What is my TRACES User ID?

For deductors, it is your TAN. For taxpayers, it is your PAN. There is no separate username.

Yes. Log in as a taxpayer using your PAN, go to View Tax Credit, and select Form 26AS for the relevant assessment year.
