Link Aadhaar with EPF/UAN

Linking Aadhaar with your EPF account (via UAN) is mandatory for:

  • Getting EPF benefits
  • Making online PF withdrawals
  • KYC verification for your PF account
  • Receiving timely SMS and service updates

You can link Aadhaar to your EPF account using four simple methods:

Steps:

  1. Go to https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in
  2. Login using your UAN and password
  3. Click on “Manage” → “KYC”
  4. Select Aadhaar from the list
  5. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and name (as per Aadhaar)
  6. Click “Save”

Status will show as “Pending” until it’s verified by UIDAI
Once approved, status changes to “Verified”

Steps:

  1. Download the UMANG App from Play Store or App Store
  2. Go to the EPFO section
  3. Click on “e-KYC services” → “Aadhaar Seeding”
  4. Enter your UAN, verify with OTP sent to your registered mobile
  5. Enter your Aadhaar and submit

You can also submit Aadhaar linking request through your HR or employer by:

  • Filling Aadhaar Seeding Form
  • Attaching self-attested Aadhaar copy
  • Submitting it to the employer’s HR/payroll department
  • The employer then updates it through their EPFO employer portal

If you’re unable to link online:

  1. Visit your nearest EPFO office
  2. Fill and submit the Aadhaar Seeding Application
  3. Attach your self-attested Aadhaar and UAN copy
  4. EPFO officer will verify and update your Aadhaar

How to Check Aadhaar Linking Status?

Visit EPFO Aadhaar Status Link:

  1. Login using UAN and password
  2. Click on “View → UAN Card” or “KYC
  3. If Aadhaar is verified, it will show under the Approved KYC section

Example:

Amit wants to withdraw his PF online. But his Aadhaar isn’t linked. He logs into the EPFO portal, submits his Aadhaar under the KYC section, and it gets approved in 2 days. Now he can easily withdraw PF online using just OTP.

Conclusion

Linking Aadhaar with EPF/UAN is essential for PF benefits, online claims, and KYC compliance. You can link it easily through the EPFO website, UMANG app, your employer, or the EPFO office. Make sure to verify your Aadhaar once it’s submitted.
