A financial support scheme by the Uttar Pradesh government, launched on 25 October 2019, to empower girls from birth to higher education with cash transfers at milestone stages.

  1. Conditional Cash Support
    Six lump-sum installments are provided at key stages of a girl’s life: Phase Milestone Amount 1 At birth (girls born on/after 1 Apr 2019) ₹2,000 2 After full vaccination (within first year) ₹1,000 3 Admission to Class I ₹2,000 4 Admission to Class VI ₹2,000 5 Admission to Class IX ₹3,000 6 After Class X/XII, enrolling in degree/diploma ₹5,000

  4. Inclusivity – Applies to both biological and adopted girls; in case of twins, up to three girls are eligible.
  5. Annual Budget – Uttar Pradesh allocated approx ₹1,200 crore to support the scheme.

Eligibility

  • Permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Annual family income ≤ ₹3 lakh.
  • Up to two girls per family (third allowed if twins).
  • Girl must be born on or after 1 April 2019 (older ones get proportionate benefits).

How to Apply

  1. Visit the MKSY portal: mksy.up.gov.in
  2. Create or log in to your Citizen Service Portal account.
  3. Add girl child(ren) (max 2, or 3 if twins) with Aadhaar & bank details .
  4. Upload required documents and submit online.
  5. You can track status via the portal login.
