How to Log in to the GST Portal

For Existing Users

  1. Visit the Official GST Portal: Go to www.gst.gov.in.
  2. Click on ‘Login’: Located at the top-right corner of the homepage.
  3. Enter Credentials:
    • Username: Your registered username.
    • Password: Your password.
    • Captcha Code: Enter the characters displayed in the image.
  4. Click ‘LOGIN’: Upon successful authentication, you’ll be directed to your dashboard.

For First-Time Users

  1. Access the GST Portal: Navigate to www.gst.gov.in.
  2. Initiate First-Time Login:
    • Click on ‘Login’ at the top-right corner.
    • At the bottom of the login page, click on the link: “First time login: If you are logging in for the first time, click here to login”.
  3. Enter Initial Credentials:
    • Provisional ID/GSTIN/UIN: As received via email.
    • Password: As provided in the email.
    • Captcha Code: Enter the characters displayed.
  4. Set New Credentials:
    • Username: Create a new username.
    • Password: Set a new password.
    • Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password.
  5. Submit and Login: After setting your credentials, click ‘Submit’. You can now log in using your new username and password.
  6. Update Bank Details: Upon first login, you’ll be prompted to file a non-core amendment application to submit your bank account details. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete this step.

Resetting Username or Password

If you’ve forgotten your username or password:

  1. Go to the GST Portal: Visit www.gst.gov.in.
  2. Click on ‘Login’: Top-right corner of the homepage.
  3. Select ‘Forgot Username’ or ‘Forgot Password’: Located below the login fields.
  4. Enter Required Details:
    • For username: Provide your Provisional ID/GSTIN/UIN.
    • For password: Enter your username.
  5. Generate OTP: Click on ‘Generate OTP’. An OTP will be sent to your registered email and mobile number.
