A Duplicate (Reprint) PAN Card is a replacement of your original PAN (same PAN number) issued when the card is lost, stolen, damaged, or misplaced.
Online Application (via NSDL / Protean / UTIITSL)
- Visit NSDL‑Protean or UTIITSL portal and select “Reprint of PAN Card” or “Change/Correction or Reprint”, choosing no changes to existing PAN data.
- Enter your PAN, Aadhaar, DOB (optionally GSTIN), agree to declarations, and submit.
- Choose submission mode:
- Paperless: e‑KYC + e‑Sign (Aadhaar & OTP)
- Scanned documents: Upload photo, ID/address proof
- Physical: Print & mail documents post‑submission.
- Select physical PAN or e‑PAN delivery.
- Pay the fee:
- ₹50 (physical, within India)
- ₹72 (e‑PAN)
- Higher for foreign addresses/submissions
- Get an acknowledgement with 15‑digit token, track status online.
- Your PAN (or e‑PAN PDF) arrives within 2–3 weeks.
Offline Application (Form 49A)
- Download Form 49A from the Income‑Tax Department website.
- Fill in block letters with black ink; mention your existing 10‑digit PAN.
- If you’re an individual, attach 2 signed passport-size photos.
- Attach self-attested documents:
- Identity proof (Aadhaar, passport, voter ID, etc.)
- Address proof (utility bill, bank statement, Aadhaar)
- DOB proof
- Copy of lost PAN card or allotment letter (if available)
- Pay fee (same as online) and mail to the nearest NSDL facilitation centre.
- Receive 15‑digit acknowledgement, track via NSDL portal.
- Card is dispatched within 2 weeks post-processing.

After Receiving Duplicate PAN
- If you’ve held multiple PAN cards, surrender the unwanted one to your Assessing Officer with a request letter.
- You may need to file an FIR for stolen PAN before applying.
- Your PAN number remains unchanged on the duplicate card.
