Company PAN Card

A Company PAN Card is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric identifier issued by the Income Tax Department of India. It serves as the tax identity for companies, enabling them to:

  • File income tax returns
  • Open business bank accounts
  • Register for Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • Engage in financial transactions and contracts
  • Participate in government tenders and procurements

All companies operating in India, whether domestic or foreign, are required to obtain a PAN card.

Documents Required for Company PAN Card

For Indian Companies:

  1. Certificate of Incorporation: Issued by the Registrar of Companies.
  2. Proof of Address: Utility bills, bank statements, or other official documents.
  3. Identity Proof of Authorized Signatory: PAN card, Aadhaar card, or passport.
  4. No Objection Certificate (NOC): If applicable, from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
  5. Company Seal and Stamp: For authentication purposes.

For Foreign Companies:

  1. Certificate of Registration: Issued in the country of origin, duly attested by an Apostille, Indian Embassy, or authorized officials.
  2. Approval Certificate: Granted by Indian authorities to set up an office in India.
  3. PAN Application Form 49AA: Duly filled and signed.
  4. Bank Draft: In INR, payable to Protean eGov Technologies Limited, Mumbai.

Note: All documents must be self-attested and, where applicable, notarized or apostilled.

Application Process for Company PAN Card

Online Application:

  1. Visit the NSDL Website: Go to the NSDL PAN application portal.
  2. Select Application Type: Choose ‘New PAN – Indian Citizen (Form 49A)’ or ‘New PAN – Foreign Citizen (Form 49AA)’.
  3. Fill in Details: Enter company information, including name, date of incorporation, and contact details.
  4. Upload Documents: Attach the required documents in the specified formats.
  5. Payment: Pay the application fee online.
  6. Acknowledgment: After submission, an acknowledgment receipt is generated.
  7. Dispatch Documents: Send the signed acknowledgment and supporting documents to the NSDL office.

Offline Application:

  1. Obtain Form 49A/49AA: Download from the NSDL website or collect from a PAN center.
  2. Fill the Form: Complete the form in block letters using a black pen.
  3. Attach Documents: Include all necessary documents as per the checklist.
  4. Submit Application: Visit the nearest PAN center to submit the application and pay the fee.
  5. Acknowledgment Receipt: Collect the receipt for tracking purposes.

Processing time is typically 15-20 working days.

  • For Foreign Companies:
    • Physical PAN Card: ₹1,017
    • e-PAN Card: ₹1,011
