Why is the LTP different from the price shown on a chart?

This gap usually comes down to data source and refresh timing: LTP on the order placement screen typically pulls from a real-time or near-real-time exchange feed, since accurate live pricing is essential for placing orders correctly, while the chart, especially on a free or default plan, may be running on a delayed data feed, commonly delayed by a minute or more. In a fast-moving stock, this delay can create a meaningful visible difference between where the chart’s candle appears to be and the actual current LTP shown elsewhere in the app. It can also happen if the chart hasn’t refreshed or reloaded recently, showing a stale last-rendered price even though the underlying data feed itself might be reasonably current. You treat LTP shown near the order entry screen as the more reliable, live figure, and you don’t rely purely on a chart’s visual last-candle position for split-second trading decisions if you know it might be running on delayed data.
