Where can I find a complete breakdown of trading charges?

You use three sources together, since no single one tells the whole story. The tariff sheet, usually on the broker’s website or in the account-opening kit, lists the standard rate for brokerage, DP charges, and other broker-specific fees. The order screen shows an estimated charge breakdown before you confirm the trade, factoring in current STT, GST, and exchange rates. The contract note, issued after the trade settles, shows the actual, final charges applied to that specific executed order. If you want to see charges deducted from your account balance over time rather than per trade, you check the ledger statement, which logs every debit and credit. When something doesn’t add up, you lead with the contract note, since it reflects what was actually charged, not what was estimated.
