What is CBI Net Banking?
CBI’s Internet Banking (Cent Internet Banking) lets you perform transactions, check balances, pay bills, open accounts, invest, and more—24×7 from anywhere—without visiting a branch
1. Who Can Use It?
- Retail Customers choose from three access levels:
- View Only
- View + Bill Payments
- Full Transaction Rights (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS)
- Business Users get corporate banking with maker/checker roles, bulk upload, and GST compliance
2. Register for Net Banking
- Download and fill the form from your home branch
- Submit it to enable net banking access
- Go to [Central Bank Internet Banking portal] → use your CIF as User ID
- Enter registered mobile, get OTP, set login password
- Set your transaction password after logging in for the first time
3. Login & Password Reset
- Login Steps:
- Visit Personal Banking → Login
- Enter User ID (CIF), password, captcha → authenticate via OTP
- Forgot Password / User ID:
- Use Generate Online Password, enter CIF and mobile → get OTP → reset login and transaction passwords
4. Key Features on Net Banking
- Account functions: check balance, view/download statements, open accounts
- Fund transfers: NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, CBI-internal transfers
- Bill & Tax payments: including GST, direct & indirect taxes, utility bills
- Deposits: open/close FD/RD, manage existing deposits
- Cheque/Card services: chequebook request, stop payment, hotlist ATM cards
- Locker & nominee services: apply online
- Investments & donations: ASBA IPO, PPF, APY, PMSBY/PMJJBY, e-file ITR, Form 26AS, and dedicated donation portals
5. Mobile App Integration
Download Cent Mobile (Android/iOS)—link it with your net banking to access:
- Balances, mini-statements, fund transfers (NEFT/IMPS)
- Cheque and card controls
- FD/RD applications, e-passbook, UPI, locker requests, and more
6. Security Measures
- Uses 256-bit SSL encryption, CAPTCHA, virtual keyboard, OTP, GRID Card/email validation
- Supports two-factor authentication (OTP / digital signature / virtual grid)
- Implemented transaction limits, auto-lock after 3 wrong attempts, and beneficiary cooling period (~4 hours)
- Sends SMS alerts and phishing prevention tips at login screens
