It lists all details like what&#x2019;s sold, how much, taxes charged, and who is involved. This document allows the buyer to claim Input Tax Credit (ITC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"mandatory-components-of-a-gst-invoice\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mandatory Components of a GST Invoice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As per Section&#x202F;31 of the CGST Act, a GST invoice must include the following fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Supplier details:<\/strong> Name, address, <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  href=\"https:\/\/lemonn.co.in\/blog\/glossary\/gstin\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>GSTIN<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Invoice number &amp; date:<\/strong> Unique, serially numbered (&#x2264;16 characters)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recipient details:<\/strong> Name, address, GSTIN (if registered)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Description of goods\/services:<\/strong> Along with HSN (goods) or SAC (services) codes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quantity, unit &amp; taxable value<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tax details:<\/strong> CGST, SGST\/UTGST, <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  href=\"https:\/\/lemonn.co.in\/blog\/glossary\/what-is-igst\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>IGST<\/a>, and cess with separate amounts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Place of supply<\/strong> (especially for interstate transactions) and delivery address if different<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reverse charge mention:<\/strong> If applicable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Signature or digital signature<\/strong> of supplier or authorized person (not required for e&#x2011;invoices)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Optional fields<\/strong> may include payment terms, PO number, transport details, e&#x2011;way bill info, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"invoice-issuance-time-limits\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Invoice Issuance Time Limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For goods:<\/strong> Before or at time of removal\/delivery<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For services:<\/strong> Within 30 days from provision; includes unique IRN &amp; QR code<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"gst-invoice-payment-process\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">GST Invoice &amp; Payment Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Buyer receives the invoice, then pays the total (including GST).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The seller remits the GST collected to the government when filing returns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The buyer uses the GST details to claim ITC in their returns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No payment is required upfront for GST at invoice issue;
